The next media accelerator, together with the Online Marketing Rockstars, is bringing 50 international media startups to the OMR Festival in Hamburg.

Hamburg, February 1st, 2017 — Startups change the media landscape: The next media accelerator (nma) starts with the nma MediaMatch, a unique platform that brings together up to 50 outstanding international media startups with media-makers and investors. The goal is to match promising startup teams from the fields of content, advertising, technology, and media-oriented services, with potential media customers, test partners and investors.

Launched by the leading independent media accelerator and Online Marketing Rockstars, the dating format will take place for the first time on March 2nd and 3rd at the OMR Festival 2017, Europe’s leading digital marketing conference, in Hamburg. Speed-dating in the MediaMatch Lounge will be accompanied by brief talks and lectures from industry experts. Each of the selected startups startups will also receive a three-minute performance on the MediaMatch stage.

“We want to enable as many contacts as possible via speed-dating and elevator pitches, as well as an intensive exchange between founders, media-makers, and investors,” says Meinolf Ellers, CMO and managing partner of next media accelerator. “In the end, all three target groups are getting very concrete results: to arrange test runs, to collect specific orders, and to discuss the next round of financing and possible investments.”

Selected startups will be coming from all over Europe — from Spain and Greece to Russia and Estonia. The “startup nation” Israel will also be represented. The topics of MediaMatch range from new video concepts and social media tools, to innovative services for the digital advertising scene.

For the first time, the three most important publishing groups — newspaper, magazine, and book — will be together for a startup event. The Association of German Book Trade, the Federal Association of German Newspaper Publishers (BDZV) and the Association of German Magazine Publishers (VDZ) are on board. The nma MediaMatch is especially supported by the partners Spiegel Online, Weischer Media, Optimizely, NextMedia Hamburg, and Libri. In addition, the Austrian startup fund Speedinvest and the German High-Tech Gründerfonds.
